three cultures.

We are proud to be bringing a multi-generational and multicultural booth to Boston this year. Laura Clay will be showing alongside her mother, Estela Villaseñor de Hernández in her debut fair appearance, and artist Umbreen Ahmad, with curation by Noemi Szyller. Together we represent women with roots in Mexico, France, and Pakistan whose work is united by a shared exploration of culture, memory, and identity.

Laura Clay

Founder & Artist

Laura is a Mexican-American artist based in Austin. Her abstract paintings feature gradients, textures, and a balance between organic and geometric forms, reflecting her exploration of bicultural identity and tension between chaos and order.

Laura holds an MFA from the National Art School in Sydney, Australia, a BFA from Texas Christian University, and has studied fine art at Instituto Allende in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. She also completed a year at the Corcoran College of Art + Design in Washington, D.C. Her work has been acquired by Mexic-Arte Museum for its permanent collection. With over 60 exhibitions and art fairs worldwide, she is currently represented by Washington Gallery Waco and The Cathedral ATX.

Estela Villaseñor de Hernández

Artist

Estela Villaseñor de Hernández is a Mexican watercolor artist and architect devoted to cultural preservation.

With architecture degrees from the University of Guanajuato and University of Texas, her research into Guanajuato's historic mining architecture grew into a thirty-year restoration career. In parallel, she paints local communities, streetscapes, and botanicals with rich color and expressive strokes.

A MUAG member and Prismacolor competition winner, Estela has exhibited across Guanajuato, San Miguel de Allende, and Texas — building a living archive of cultural memory through her restorations and paintings.

Umbreen Ahmad is a Muslim-American abstract artist raised in Pakistan and based in Texas. Her work draws from nature, chaos and beauty held in perfect harmony, giving her room to explore emotion without rigid structure. Each stroke tells a story, a reminder that we're small specks in a vast, colorful world.

Working in oils, texture, and color, Umbreen honors both her own emotional highs and lows and those she witnesses in others. Her art is also a meditation and a daily practice of self-discovery, gratitude, and recognizing life's quiet silver linings. It's a space for stillness, resilience, and a peace that doesn't shout, but stays.

Umbreen Ahmad

Noémi Szyller brings a curator's eye to Laura Clay Art. Born in Paris and raised between cultures, her early exposure to museums shaped a lifelong engagement with art, history, and visual storytelling.

She holds degrees in Art History and Museum Studies and has worked across museums and galleries in Austin and San Francisco. At the UMLAUF Sculpture Garden & Museum, she expanded into marketing, discovering a passion for connecting artists and audiences through curation and strategic communication.
