The Collector’s Preview

This April, the studio is opening a private window for the acquisition of new works prior to the May exhibition season. This selection represents the latest evolution of my practice across a variety of substrates and mediums, prepared specifically for the upcoming fairs in Dallas and Austin. This digital preview serves as the primary opportunity to collect these pieces before they arrive at the fair walls.

$1,200.00

8 × 10 inches, Oil on Hand-Stretched Jute, 2025
Framed to 12×14 inches

The Compartment series bridges my practices in painting and drawing, translating a single concept across two distinct material languages. It began with a foundational drawing—an idea about form and identity captured in the precision of archival ink. That same idea is now re-explored on raw linen, where the architectural line gives way to the texture of handmade oil paints.

Each piece is a meditation on the spaces we inhabit—between cultures, memories, and materials. It is a dialogue between the controlled gesture of the pen and the fluid expression of the brush, each medium offering a different perspective on the interplay between structure and the self.

La Lotería Collection

El Gallo is a visual interpretation of the iconic Lotería card—a symbol of strength, voice, and early rising. In this piece, Laura Clay distills the energy of the rooster into a striking geometric composition, where warm gradients and clean symmetry echo the poised stance and unwavering presence of this storied figure.

A centered square holds layers of blush, sand, and terracotta, fading upward into light. The palette references sunlit earth and early dawn, with a subtle glow that hints at the rooster’s call to begin again. Clay’s use of precision and restraint invites a sense of clarity and grounded ritual.

Part of the La Lotería series, El Gallo reimagines traditional iconography through abstraction, honoring cultural heritage while offering space for new interpretations.
