Windows of the World

Windows of the World explores memory and the destinations that shape identity. Each painting reflects Laura Clay’s experiences traveling across cultures, capturing the balance between rootedness and transition. Inspired by her travels to places like Mexico, Italy, and Spain, Clay incorporates locally sourced pigments and natural materials, allowing each piece to embody the essence of its origin.

The Artist’s Way.

Laura Clay’s work explores the intersection of bicultural identity, abstraction, and materiality, blending organic textures with structured forms to reflect the tension between chaos and order. Using handmade pigments, fine-line detailing, and layered compositions, she creates immersive pieces that invite viewers to consider the fluidity and duality of personal and cultural identity.

  • Laura’s practice is rooted in material intentionality. She works with handmade paints crafted from natural pigments, including cochineal—a rich red derived from insects found on Mexican nopal cacti. Used for centuries in Indigenous art and textiles, cochineal connects her work to history, heritage, and the artisans who came before her.

  • All artwork is professionally packaged and shipped with the utmost care to ensure safe delivery. Original works typically ship within 7–10 business days; you’ll receive tracking details as soon as your piece is on its way.

  • Commissioned pieces are created in close collaboration to ensure each work reflects the collector’s vision and intention. Please allow 4–6 weeks for completion, depending on scale and complexity.
