VIDEOGRAPHER &

PHOTOGRAPHER

Location: Austin, TX
Type: Paid Internship
Compensation: $18 – $22 / Hour

For a contemporary artist, the digital image is the primary way the world experiences the work. At Laura Clay Art, we view documentation as an art form in itself. We are not looking for trends or fast-paced vlogging. We are looking to capture the texture of the canvas, the viscosity of the oil paint, and the quiet atmosphere of the studio. You are the lens through which our collectors experience the tactility of the art.

THE VISUAL ENVIRONMENT

We are seeking a Videographer and Photographer with a cinematic eye. You may apply for either Photography, Videography, or a hybrid of both This is a hands-on, in-studio role. You will work side-by-side with Laura to document the creation of new collections, capturing the process from the first sketch to the final varnish.

You will act as the studio's Director of Photography. Your footage and imagery will be the foundation of our website, collector catalogues, and social media presence. This is a portfolio-building opportunity for a creative who understands that lighting and composition are everything.

THE ROLE

THE RESPONSIBILITES

Photography

(Apply for this track if you specialize in still imagery)

Fine Art Reproduction & Archiving You will create the master digital archive of the artwork. This requires capturing ultra-high-resolution images of finished artworks for large-scale print reproduction. Color matching is critical. You must understand how to light a textured surface to minimize glare while retaining depth, ensuring the digital file is a perfect match to the original artwork.

Lifestyle & Editorial You will capture the artwork "in the wild" to help collectors visualize how the pieces live in a space. This includes styling shots in the studio, documenting the artist at work, and photographing gallery installations with an editorial, magazine-quality aesthetic.

videography

(Apply for this track if you specialize in motion)

Social Media Content Creation You will shoot and edit engaging, high-quality short-form content that aligns with the studio’s elevated aesthetic. You will translate the slow, meditative process of painting into compelling digital narratives that drive engagement without sacrificing sophistication.

Cinematic Process Documentation You will film the artistic process with a focus on atmosphere and detail. This includes capturing high-quality B-roll of mixing paints, brushwork, and studio life. You will be responsible for the full production cycle: shooting in-studio and editing remotely.

This role allows you to build a robust portfolio of commercial and fine art photography. During your time with us, you will learn:

  • The specific technical requirements of photographing fine art.

  • How to build a visual brand identity that translates across platforms.

  • The workflow of digital asset management for a luxury brand.
