Carmel
8 x 10 inches, Acrylic on Canvas, 2024
Windows of the World Collection
Certificate of Authenticity and Floater Frame Included | Signed by the Artist
Carmel captures the coastal quiet and golden light of California’s central shore. A vertical ombré window fades from terracotta to mist, framed by soft clouds in chalk blue, slate, and sienna. The composition feels like late afternoon air drifting through a salt-weathered window.
Laura Clay’s brushwork brings energy to the edges while preserving a serene stillness at the core. The cloud forms evoke cliffs, spray, and movement, grounding the sky in earth’s tones. The window glows with warmth and restraint.
A harmonious blend of texture and calm, Carmel is a tribute to coastal memory and the slow shifts of sea and sky.

In this series, Windows of the World, I delve into my bicultural identity and the journeys that have defined my life. This series is a reflection of my travels between Mexico and the United States, as well as my adventures around the globe. Each painting is a window into the landscapes and experiences that have shaped who I am.
Carmel Beach is inspired by my first visit to Frank Lloyds Wright’s “Cabin on the Rocks” and watching the sun set behind his architecture.
