Waco
8 × 10 inches, Acrylic on Canvas, 2024
Windows of the World Collection
Certificate of Authenticity and Floater Frame Included | Signed by the Artist
Bold and radiant, Waco captures the clarity of a Texas sky at golden hour. With its electric blues and layered whites, this piece bursts with energy and movement, like clouds caught mid-drift across a warm southern horizon.
A central window grounds the composition, its coral outline subtly echoing the sunset’s glow. The surrounding gradient shifts from dusty pink to denim blue, drawing the eye inward and creating a layered illusion of atmosphere. Clay’s brushwork brings a kinetic presence to the surface—bright, textural, and alive.
Rooted in place and full of motion, Waco feels like a wide-open breath, inviting viewers to linger in its light.

In this series, Windows of the World, I delve into my bicultural identity and the journeys that have defined my life. This series is a reflection of my travels between Mexico and the United States, as well as my adventures around the globe. Each painting is a window into the landscapes and experiences that have shaped who I am.
Waco, TX is inspired by my undergraduate days visiting Baylor, where I often took road trips between Austin and Fort Worth, and now I frequently return to Waco to visit Washington Gallery to drop off paintings and attend art openings. ,Every time I make this journey and look up at the sky I relive those memories with a renewed sense of purpose and connection.
